What will you study?

  • The Vietnam War – Why did the USA get involved? Why did they lose? Investigate the politics, protests, and the human cost of a war that shook the world. This will be examined as coursework- fully supported using staff expertise and academy resources. (Y100)
  • The Cold War in Asia – From Model States in Japan to genocide in Cambodia, discover how global superpowers clashed and competed across Asia. This will be assessed through an exam. (Y222)
  • Civil Rights in the USA – Follow the inspiring fight for equality, from women to workers, find out how USA developed. This will be assessed through an exam. (Y319)
  • The Later Tudors – Dive into the drama of Tudor England: rebellions, religious upheaval, and the struggle for succession. Was there a Mid Tudor Crisis? Was Elizabeth I’s reign a triumph? (Y107)

Entry Requirements

It is desired that students have gained or are working towards a GCSE qualification in History at grade 6 or above. Additionally students should have 5 GCSEs at grades 5-9 including Maths and English.

Students must be aged 16-19 to study this course.
