Head of Sixth Form
Safeguarding Officer
Leading the Sixth Form team and overseeing the strategic direction, curriculum offer, and standards of post-16 provision. Gemma monitors academic progress and student performance, supports admissions and recruitment, and provides guidance on university and career pathways, ensuring a high-expectation, aspirational culture where all students are supported to succeed.
Gemma is a teacher of Business and has formally been a Head of Year within KS3 and KS4, as well as 10 years spent as a Head of Business. She joined the 6th form team as an Assistant Learning Coordinator in 2019, before becoming Head of 6th Form in January 2022. Gemma has played a key role in the launch of T Levels, particularly for T Level Management & Administration where she continues to lead national teacher training for both DfE funded and privately funded organisations. She has been an examiner for the Edexcel GCSE Business qualification and City & Guilds T Level Management and Administration for a number of years.

Safeguarding Officer
Coordinating the day-to-day academic and pastoral support of Sixth Form students, with responsibility for tracking progress, attendance, and engagement. Joe leads on student mentoring, UCAS support, and intervention strategies, working closely with staff, students, and families to ensure learners are supported, challenged, and prepared for their next steps.
Joe manages our Cisco Network Academy. He teaches Computer Science, IT, Digital support and Networking. He joined the 6th Form team as an Assistant Learning Coordinator in January 2022, and became Learning Coordinator in 2023. He leads our university applications process and liaises with students over their UCAS application.

Providing academic and pastoral support to Sixth Form students, with lead responsibility for wellbeing. Lucy promotes positive mental health across the Sixth Form and runs the Wellbeing Club, offering a supportive space that helps students balance their emotional wellbeing with the demands of post-16 study.
Lucy is the Head of the Plumbing and Electrical Installation Department and holds a CIPHE Master’s in Plumbing. She joined the Sixth Form team in January 2022 as an Assistant Learning Coordinator. In addition, Lucy works closely with City & Guilds to help develop, modify, and standardise plumbing qualifications used across the UK industry. Lucy was also the proud recipient of the World Plumbing Council (WPC) United Association Instructor Training Program Scholarship in August 2025. She is also a guest speaker at the WPC annual conference in July 2026, where she will present Global Perspectives in Plumbing Education, developed from her time in the USA.

Supporting 16–19-year-old students with their academic and personal development, with a specific focus on English and Maths resit groups. Sarah works closely with students to improve attendance, engagement, and outcomes, ensuring they are supported to achieve these essential qualifications alongside their wider Sixth Form studies.
Sarah is a Maths teacher having taught up to degree level since joining the education industry. She holds multiple degrees herself and able to teach across many STEM subjects. She joined the 6th form team as an Assistant Learning Coordinator in 2024.

Sixth Form Manager
Supporting the day-to-day organisation and supervision of the Sixth Form, Amy plays a key role in maintaining high standards of behaviour, attendance, and professionalism. She works closely with students and staff to ensure a calm, safe, and purposeful learning environment, while providing practical support that helps Sixth Form students stay focused, organised, and ready to learn.
Amy holds qualification in Counselling for Mental Health, as well as a Masters in Education: Learning, Pedagogy and Assessment. Amy joined UAH in 2019 as our 6th Form Student Manager.
