UAH offers T‑Level routes that combine classroom learning with substantial industry placements, giving students a direct pathway into skilled careers, apprenticeships or higher education. T-Levels are a game-changing technical qualification, and at UAH, we ensure your compulsory Industry Placement is a high-quality experience that launches your career. This placement forms a vital part of your T-Level course and is essential for achieving the qualification.

The T-Level Placement Commitment

Minimum Hours: Every student undertaking a T-Level must complete a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) of placement with a real employer. (The Education and Childcare T-Level has a higher hour requirement).
Real-Life Context: This is more than just traditional work experience; it is a structured placement where you apply the knowledge and technical skills learned in the classroom to real-life projects and tasks within the workplace.
Flexibility: Placements can be delivered flexibly—as a block of time, day-release across the two years, or a combination of both—to suit both your learning schedule and the employer’s needs.

Comprehensive Support for Your Placement

Our dedicated Employer Engagement Department and T-Level team provide intensive support to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience:

Placement Matching: We actively build relationships with local and national organisations to match you with a placement that directly relates to your chosen T-Level subject (e.g., Digital, Health, Management, Construction). Our goal is a mutually beneficial partnership.
Employability Skills Coaching: Before you start, you will be coached in essential generic work-based skills, including:
- CV Writing and Cover Letter preparation.
- Interview Techniques and professional communication.
- Understanding professional behaviours and workplace policies.

Progression and Career Advantage

Successfully completing your Industry Placement is a powerful stepping stone:

Direct Employment: Many of our T-Level students who have engaged with reputable local and National organisations have been offered permanent work places or apprenticeship opportunities with the company upon course completion.
Higher Education: Your T-Level, which is equivalent to three A-Levels, carries UCAS Tariff Points, allowing you to progress to university. The placement provides invaluable, sector-specific examples to strengthen your application and personal statement.
